CHAPTER 1 — “The Name She Never Said”

The garden fell into a stunned silence after the helicopter’s rotors began to fade.

The Powerful Man still held the pregnant woman close, his arm steady around her shoulders. The bouquet of red roses rested against his chest, slightly crushed from the wind.

The Blonde Socialite forced a nervous laugh, trying to regain control of the moment.

“I
I didn’t realize you were with her,” she said carefully, her voice losing its earlier arrogance.

The man didn’t even look at her.

His eyes stayed on the Pregnant Woman.

“I’ve always been with her,” he said quietly.

A few of the Villa Guests exchanged uneasy glances. Champagne glasses lowered. No one laughed anymore.

The pregnant woman finally lifted her eyes.

“You came
” she whispered.

His expression softened.

“I promised I would.”

A painful silence followed—heavy, meaningful.

And then the Blonde Socialite stepped forward again, weaker now.

“But she told everyone you left her
”

The man’s gaze finally shifted toward her—cold, controlled.

“I never left,” he said. “Someone made sure we were separated.”

The pregnant woman’s breath caught slightly.

Like she was hearing that sentence for the first time.
