Chapter 1: The Sirens Break the Silence

The first siren cut through the night like a blade.

Then another.

And another.

Within seconds, the quiet isolation of the warehouse shattered under the weight of approaching authority. Red and blue lights bled through the cracked windows, painting the walls in flashing chaos.

Richard Hayes didn’t move at first.

But the men beside him did.

Their fingers tightened on their triggers.

“Boss—” one of them whispered.

Richard slowly lowered his glass, his smile thinning into something colder. “You planned this.”

Andrew didn’t blink. “I prepared for it.”

Emily’s body trembled against the ropes, her eyes locked on her brother. The fear was still there—but something else had replaced a piece of it.

Relief.

“Drop your weapons!” a voice thundered from outside.

Richard suddenly lunged, grabbing Emily by the hair and yanking her head back. A gun pressed against her temple.

“No one comes in,” he shouted, “or she dies!”

Andrew’s expression didn’t change.

But his voice did.

Lower.

Sharper.

“You’re already finished.”

The warehouse doors exploded inward.

And everything went to hell.
