Chapter 10: The Real Vows

The sun set over the valley, casting a golden hue over the village square.

There were no imported white roses, no press, and no billionaires.

Instead, the square was decorated with vibrant local wildflowers and colorful woven tapestries.

Julian stood beneath a simple wooden arch, nervously adjusting the collar of his linen shirt.

The music wasn't played by a string quartet, but by a joyous local band playing acoustic guitars and drums.

Clara walked down the dirt aisle, her dress a simple, flowing white cotton gown made by the women of the village.

Maeve walked beside her, acting as her family.

As Clara took Julian’s hands, there were no billion-dollar inheritances hanging over them, no dark secrets, and no blood money.

"You lost the world to find your soul,"

Clara whispered, her eyes shining with absolute adoration.

"I didn't lose anything," Julian replied, looking at the smiling faces of the villagers, at Maeve, and finally, at his wife.

"I just finally found out what it means to be rich."

They kissed under the twilight sky, surrounded by the cheers of a community they had helped heal.

It wasn't the wedding society had planned for them,

May you like

but it was the marriage they were destined for—built not on exploitation,

but on the enduring, redemptive power of human love.
