PART 4 – The House of Lies

I walked out of the bedroom and into the living room where my mother was waiting.
Like she knew this moment would come.
“You always were dramatic,” she said casually, sipping tea like nothing had happened.
I stared at her.
“Say it again,” I said.
She raised an eyebrow. “Say what?”
“That Anna is lying.”
My mother smiled slowly.
“Oh, she’s not lying,” she said.
My heart stopped.
“She’s just… weak.”
Something inside me snapped.
“You tortured her.”
“I corrected her,” she replied sharply. “She needed to learn her place.”
“She’s carrying your grandchild.”
“She’s stealing my son.”
That was it.
That was the moment I understood.
This wasn’t jealousy.
May you like
This was possession.
And I was the object she refused to lose.
