PART 5 – The Decision That Changed Everything

I didn’t argue.

I didn’t yell.

I simply walked to the front door… and opened it.

“Leave.”

My mother blinked.

“What did you just say?”

“You heard me.”

Her face twisted in disbelief.

“This is my house.”

“No,” I said quietly. “It stopped being yours the moment you hurt my family.”

She laughed again—but now there was panic underneath.

“You think you can survive without me?”

I stepped aside, holding the door open wider.

“I know we can’t survive with you.”

For a long moment, neither of us moved.

Then she looked past me—toward the bedroom where Anna was resting.

Her expression changed.

Dark.

Threatening.

“This isn’t over,” she whispered.

“No,” I said. “It is.”

And for the first time in my life…

I closed the door on my mother.
