Chapter 14: Becoming a Real Family

One year after the disrupted wedding, they decided to have a small, private ceremony — just the four of them and Eleanor.
It wasn’t a big event like the first one. There were no hundreds of guests or expensive decorations. Instead, they stood in their backyard on a warm spring evening, surrounded by flowers and the people who truly mattered.
Lily acted as the flower girl again — this time willingly and happily. Eleanor walked Victoria down the aisle. Alexander waited for them with tears in his eyes.
When the officiant asked if anyone objected, no one said a word.
After they exchanged vows, Lily ran up and hugged both of them tightly.
“Now we’re a real family,” she declared.
