Emma’s fingers hovered over the baby’s back, her pulse quickening.

“There’s something wrong,” she repeated, more firmly this time.

Adrian stepped closer, his presence swallowing the space around her. “What do you mean?”

Emma swallowed. “He’s not just crying. He’s reacting to something… here.”

She gently shifted the baby’s clothing. At first, it looked like nothing—just soft skin under dim golden light. Then she saw it.

A faint swelling. Too precise to be random.

Her breath caught. “This isn’t normal.”

Adrian’s expression hardened. “Say it clearly.”

Emma looked up, her voice steady despite the tension. “It looks like something was placed under his skin.”

The room erupted in silent panic.

One of the bodyguards cursed under his breath. Adrian’s eyes turned lethal.
