CHAPTER 2: TRUST NO ONE

Adrian’s private doctor arrived in under five minutes.
Emma stood off to the side, watching as the man carefully examined the baby. The silence was suffocating.
Finally, the doctor spoke.
“It’s a micro-device. Embedded just beneath the skin.”
Emma’s stomach dropped.
“A tracker?” Adrian asked.
The doctor hesitated. “More than that. It could transmit audio… or worse.”
Adrian’s gaze slowly moved across the remaining staff—his guards, his closest men.
Someone in this room had allowed it to happen.
Or done it themselves.
“Lock the doors,” Adrian said coldly. “No one leaves.”
