Healing required action, and Eleanor was determined to make things right. On a crisp Sunday morning, she invited Mark and Lily to the estate's sunroom. A thick stack of legal documents rested on the glass coffee table.

"I know I can never give you back the years we lost," Eleanor began, her voice steady but laced with emotion as she looked at Lily. "And Mark," she turned to her son, "I never want you to feel like you are being replaced. You are the son of my heart."

Richard pushed the documents forward. "These are updated trusts and estate plans. We are splitting everything equally between the two of you. You are both our children, and you will both lead this family’s legacy moving forward."

Mark felt a massive weight lift off his chest, tears pricking his eyes at the undeniable proof of his parents' unconditional love. Lily, overwhelmed by the gesture, reached out and took Eleanor's hand.

"Thank you," Lily whispered. "But before we talk about inheritances and businesses... I think we have a wedding to re-plan."

Eleanor’s face lit up with genuine joy. "Oh, darling, yes. And this time, we will do it exactly your way. No massive spectacles. Just family." She paused, offering a soft, redeeming smile. "And we will find you a dress that beautifully shows off that swallow."
