Six weeks later, Bianca appeared at the mansion gate without lawyers or assistants.
She carried no gifts, only Elena's original music box and a folder of documents.
Julian almost refused to see her.
Sophia reminded him that listening did not require forgiveness.
They met in the glass sitting room while a supervisor remained nearby.
Bianca returned the last foundation records and explained how Grant had controlled her.
After Elena questioned the transfers, Grant showed Bianca forged approvals bearing her signature.
He promised to erase them if she helped declare Julian temporarily unfit.
Bianca had told herself she was protecting the company until the lie became more comfortable than the truth.
"I resented you for grieving," she told Julian.
"Because I had turned my own grief into work, and I wanted that to make me stronger." Julian said strength without compassion had nearly cost her a family.
Bianca accepted the statement.
She asked to see Leo from a distance.
Julian allowed her to stand at the nursery doorway while he fed the baby.
The arrangement mirrored the morning he first watched Sophia.
Bianca cried quietly.
No one rushed to comfort her.

"Stay," he said.

The trust contained a clause transferring permanent voting control to a temporary guardian if Julian remained legally restricted for seventy-two hours.
They had prevented the transfer by less than one hour.
Marcus verified the clause.
Had Julian stayed in court to protect his image instead of going to Leo's clinic, Grant planned to argue he valued control over his child.
Had he gone without strong evidence, Grant planned to call him unstable.

Sophia realized the only action Grant could not predict was honest care without concern for appearance.

The next morning, a formal notice arrived.
Grant intended to claim that his recorded statements were obtained improperly and that Celeste had acted alone.

It captured his instruction to place the cabinet key in Sophia's pocket while she cared for Leo.

"If the baby improves with her, remove her," he said.
"If he struggles, blame the father." The words reduced months of strategy to a simple truth.
Grant had treated every human response as a tool.
His attorney attacked Nora's delay in producing the video.
Nora explained the threats against her family and admitted her fear.
The investigator confirmed the file's metadata and recovered upload attempts.
Celeste corroborated every detail.
Marla provided the falsified agency records.
Bianca surrendered emails in which Grant outlined the guardianship timeline.
The evidence no longer depended on one perfect witness.
It formed a chain.
Sophia testified only about what she personally observed.
She did not exaggerate the bottle's condition or claim knowledge she lacked.
Her restraint made Grant's manipulation clearer.
When asked why she stayed after being accused, she looked toward Julian.
"A newborn needed a calm routine, and his father needed the chance to learn it." Grant's attorney suggested she stayed because the Rossi family could make her wealthy.
Sophia answered with the clean simplicity that had guided her from the start.
"I stayed because Leo was hungry." The room went silent.
Grant accepted a negotiated resolution that included financial restitution, loss of his professional license, and cooperation in the remaining investigation.
The process was less dramatic than his schemes and more permanent than his threats.

Marla lost control of the agency.

"I used to think relief meant the danger was over." "What do you think now?" she asked.
