Chapter 11: The Mask Slips

Daniel delivered everything.
Hidden cameras.
Audio clips.
Logs of punishments.
Nathan watched in silence.
Every second burned into him.
Victoria’s voice.
Cold. Controlled.
Cruel.
By the end…
Nathan wasn’t shocked anymore.
He was resolved.
That night, Nathan waited.
Victoria walked in.
“You’ve made a mistake,” she said.
Nathan pressed play.
Her own voice filled the room.
Her face went pale.
“It’s over,” Nathan said.
“No,” she whispered. “It’s just beginning.”
Victoria didn’t run.
She fought.
Lawyers.
Threats.
Reputation.
“You destroy me,” she said, “you destroy everything.”
Nathan shook his head.
“No.”
“You destroyed it yourself.”
For the first time, the children told their stories.
Not all at once.
But enough.
Emma’s voice trembled.
“She said love had to be earned.”

Nathan closed his eyes.
“No,” he said softly. “Love is given.”
