The mansion changed.
Locks removed.
Doors opened.
Laughter returned—slowly.
Nathan sat with his children one evening.
“No more secrets,” he said.
The boy nodded.
Emma smiled.
A real smile.
The new house wasn’t a mansion.
But it was warm.
Filled with drawings, laughter, and noise.
Nathan tucked Emma into bed.
“Daddy?”
“Yes?”
“Can I cry if I’m sad?”
