Chapter 1 - The Gilded Trap.

The crystal chandelier cast a cold, fractured light across the marble floor of the penthouse.
Elara stood in the center of the room, her black, one-shoulder dress practically blending into the shadows.
Dozens of elite syndicate members surrounded her, holding glasses of champagne while exchanging smug glances.
A thin trail of blood trickled down her chin from a split lip.
They thought they had finally cornered the ghost who had been dismantling their empire.
She wiped the blood away with the back of her hand, her expression entirely unreadable.
The music stopped abruptly, leaving only the sound of clinking crystal and predatory chuckles.
It was time to make the call.
She raised the phone to her ear, locking eyes with the men who thought they owned the world.
"Dad, lock down the building," she commanded, her voice steady and chillingly calm.
A man in a tailored blue suit threw his head back and laughed.
"She thinks someone's coming to save her," he mocked, raising his glass to the crowd.
The sycophants in the room joined in, their laughter echoing off the gold-leafed walls.
Elara did not blink.
"Send the extraction team," she continued, ignoring the rising volume of the syndicate's mockery.
She lowered the phone slightly, her gaze sweeping over the faces of the billionaires and killers.
"No one leaves until I do," she finished, slipping the phone back into her clutch.
The heavy steel doors of the penthouse abruptly slammed shut with a deafening metallic clang.
The electronic locks engaged simultaneously, echoing like a series of gunshots.
May you like
Elara smiled, a dark, terrifying expression that froze the laughter in the room.
"You're trapped here," she whispered, though the silence carried her words to every corner.
