Chapter 5 - The Syndicate's Panic.

Marcus was the head of the serpent, the man who had ordered the hit on Elara's family three years ago.

He was supposed to be untouchable, protected by billions of dollars and an army of mercenaries.

Now, he was just a rat caught in a very expensive trap.

Elara could hear his heavy footsteps pacing in the master suite at the end of the hall.

Her radio crackled to life, her father's voice breaking through the static.

"Team One has secured the perimeter, Elara," he reported.

"No one gets out," she replied, her eyes fixed on the heavy oak doors of the suite.

"Understood," her father said, the cold professionalism masking a deep, shared thirst for vengeance.

She approached the suite, knowing Marcus would be heavily armed and desperate.

Desperation made men unpredictable, but it also made them sloppy.

She pressed her back against the wall beside the door frame, preparing to breach.
