The master suite was a bizarre architectural marvel, lined entirely with mirrored glass.

Elara shot the electronic lock and kicked the door open, staying clear of the fatal funnel.

A barrage of bullets chewed through the doorway, splintering the oak and tearing into the corridor.

Marcus was firing blindly, terrified of the shadows.

Elara dropped low and rolled into the room, immediately taking cover behind a massive marble bathtub.

She was surrounded by a hundred reflections of herself and a hundred reflections of a sweating, terrified Marcus.

"You can't kill me!" Marcus screamed, his voice cracking.

"You're already dead, Marcus," Elara echoed, her voice bouncing off the glass walls.

He spun wildly, firing at a reflection of Elara that shattered into a thousand glittering pieces.

The noise was deafening, the shards raining down like deadly confetti.

She used the distraction to slide across the slick floor, closing the distance between them.
