Elara ignored the chaos outside, her focus entirely on the man crawling away from her.
Marcus reached the biometric scanner of the vault, pressing his bloody thumb against the glass.
The heavy steel door hissed open, revealing stacks of bearer bonds and emergency cash.
He tried to pull himself inside, but Elara stepped on his calf, pinning him to the ground.
He screamed in pain, turning to look up at the woman who had single-handedly dismantled his life.
