December swept into Pine Ridge, blanketing the mountain town in thick, pristine white snow. The air was frigid, but the town square was alive with the warm glow of string lights for the annual Winter Festival.
Clara, Jax, and Leo walked through the crowded streets as a cohesive, happy unit. Leo was bundled in a thick winter coat—one that actually fit him perfectly—with a bright red scarf wrapped around his neck.

Later, they stood by Clara's vendor booth, where she had displayed her mountain landscape paintings. Several locals stopped by to purchase her art for holiday gifts, greeting the trio with warm hugs and cheerful smiles. The townspeople no longer viewed them as broken outsiders or a temporary charity case; they were vital, cherished members of the community.
