Chapter 5: The Arrest

The heavy oak doors of the penthouse burst open. NYPD officers flooded the pristine living room, their weapons drawn, shouting commands. The scene before them was stark and undeniable: the blood-smeared marble, the discarded leather belt, the severely battered woman on the floor, and the wealthy executive standing above her with terror in his eyes.

"Hands in the air! Get on the ground!" the lead officer commanded.

Julian instinctively raised his hands, his arrogant facade completely dissolved. "This is a misunderstanding! I know the Police Commissioner!" he stammered, slowly sinking to his knees.

Paramedics rushed past the officers, kneeling beside Elena. As they gently began to tend to her wounds, one of the detectives picked up the small recording device. Elena’s phone, still on the floor, broadcasted Marcus’s voice.

"Detective," the lawyer’s voice rang out clearly on the speaker. "You have a live feed of an aggravated assault. The DA is already drafting the charges."

Beatrice stood up, smoothing her black dress, attempting to salvage her dignity. "Officers, I demand you leave my son alone. She provoked him."

An officer scoffed, handcuffing Julian. "Save it for the judge, ma'am."
