The morning sun broke through the heavy, grey clouds, casting a golden glow over the waking city.
Eleanor stood by the tall, arched window of the luxurious upper suite.
She wore a soft, warm linen robe, a stark contrast to the muddy trench coat from the night before.
Below her, the sprawling streets were washed clean by the violent storm, gleaming brightly in the dawn light.
A gentle knock at the heavy oak door broke the peaceful silence of the room.
"Come in," Eleanor called out, her voice clear and steady.
Lord Sterling entered, holding a silver tray with two steaming cups of Earl Grey tea.
He was followed closely by Madam Croft, who carried a thick, rolled-up set of architectural blueprints.
"Good morning, Your Grace," Lord Sterling greeted warmly, setting the tray down on a small marble table.
"I took the liberty of bringing the initial plans for the eastern wing."
Madam Croft unrolled the thick paper, spreading it flat across the table with careful precision.
"The Croft bank has already transferred the first wave of funding into the public trust," she explained softly.
Eleanor walked over to the table, her eyes scanning the detailed drawings of hospitals, schools, and homes.
She gently touched the gold signet ring on her finger, feeling the smooth surface of the red gemstone.
For ninety years, she had carried the heavy burden of a forgotten past and a stolen future.
Now, looking at the eager faces of the aristocrats beside her, she finally felt a profound sense of peace.
"The Great Fire took everything from my family, but it will not define our future," Eleanor said, smiling warmly.
She reached out and placed her weathered hand firmly on top of the architectural blueprints.
