Chapter 1 - The Collision

Eleanor Vance, a woman of sharp edges and tailored emerald suits, did not tolerate thieves. When a small, disheveled figure darted through the open foyer of her sprawling estate, Eleanor moved with startling speed. She grabbed the intruder's arm, yanking back her stolen leather wallet.
The thief was just a child—a girl no older than ten, covered in street grime, her oversized beige t-shirt hanging off a frail frame.
