Chapter 18 - A Different Path

Back in the penthouse, the sun began to set, casting a warm, golden glow over the living room. Emma sat on the plush rug, building a towering block castle with Leo and Mia.
"Okay, carefully now," Emma whispered as Leo placed the final red block on top. The tower wobbled, then held firm. Both children cheered.
"Mommy, can we build one for Marcus?" Mia asked, her big brown eyes wide with innocence. "He likes castles."
"That's a wonderful idea," Emma said, her heart swelling.

She watched them carefully gather blocks to start a new project for the security chief who had become like an uncle to them. This was what she had fought for. She wasn't just raising heirs to a billionaire empire; she was raising good, kind, empathetic human beings.
They would grow up knowing the value of money, but more importantly, the value of people. They would never look down on anyone, and they would never know the arrogant cruelty that had poisoned their father's bloodline. The generational curse was officially broken.
