Chapter 20 - The Warmth of the Marble

They didn't throw a grand, pretentious gala for their wedding. There were no city elites to impress, no corporate alliances to forge, and absolutely no press allowed.
Instead, the ceremony was held in the estate’s sprawling gardens, surrounded only by the people who truly mattered. The loyal household staff sat in the front rows. Marcus, looking uncharacteristically nervous in a tuxedo, stood by Daniel’s side as his best man.
Elara walked down the aisle to the soft music of a string quartet, looking radiant in a flowing, understated white gown, her dark hair catching the sunlight. At the end of the aisle stood the man who had traded his dark empire for her light, holding their daughter, who babbled happily in a tiny white dress of her own.

As they exchanged their vows under an arch of white roses, there were no shadows left in Daniel’s eyes. He slipped the wedding band onto Elara’s finger, his hands steady and sure.
When he finally pulled her in for a kiss, the small crowd erupted into cheers. The sprawling Sterling estate was no longer a monument to cold wealth and isolation. Filled with laughter, loyalty, and an unbreakable family, the marble had finally found its warmth.
