The weight of her words settled heavily.
Victoria looked shaken. “So this entire time… you’ve had the power to change everything?”
“Yes.”
“And you waited?”
Elara met her gaze.
“I needed to know if power was the only language you understood.”
Daniel leaned against the table, exhaling slowly. “And now?”
Elara glanced between them.
“Now I decide what happens next.”
Richard straightened slightly. “Then decide.”
No defensiveness. No negotiation.
Just acceptance.
Elara let the silence stretch—not as a tactic, but as a moment of truth.
Finally, she spoke.
“I’m not dismantling this family,” she said.
Relief flickered—briefly.
“But I’m not preserving it as it was either.”
