Chapter 10: Turning the Tide

Elias didn’t call the police. He knew Sullivan's boast about owning local law enforcement wasn't an empty threat. If a precinct cruiser showed up at the docks, Sullivan would be tipped off, the girls would be moved, and the buyers would vanish into the night.

"We hit them financially first," Elias outlined, his fingers dancing across a keyboard. "My team is hacking Vanguard's offshore accounts as we speak. We are going to freeze his assets and trigger a massive automated audit. When his buyers try to transfer funds tonight, the transactions will bounce."

"Panic," Marcus nodded approvingly. "The buyers will think it's a sting operation. They'll scatter."

"Exactly," Elias agreed. "In the chaos, Sullivan will try to move the girls to a secondary location. That's when we intercept."

Clara stood up from the sofa, her legs steadier than they had been all day. The shivering had completely stopped. "What can I do?"

Elias paused, looking at her with a mixture of surprise and respect. "You have already done enough, Clara. You gave us the key to his operation. You stay here with Mrs. Gable where it is secure."

"No," Clara said, her voice finding a hard, unfamiliar edge. "I know his face. I know the faces of the guards. I can identify them on your surveillance feeds faster than your analysts can. Let me help."

Elias studied her for a long moment, seeing the fierce determination burning through her lingering trauma. He nodded slowly.

"Marcus," Elias said, not breaking eye contact with Clara. "Set her up at an oversight terminal. We leave in twenty minutes."
