Chapter 5: The Reception Sabotage

The reception went into full swing, a bright facade of celebration masking the lingering anxiety.
Julian was standing near the head table when his earpiece crackled. His head of security spoke in a hushed, urgent tone. "Boss, the west service door was forced open. The lock is busted. Someone slipped past the perimeter just after the arrest."
Julian’s blood ran cold. Eleanor hadn't been working alone.

He immediately walked over to Sarah, pulling her close as if they were swaying to the music. "Someone else is in the building," he murmured against her ear. "Take Leo to the center of the dance floor. Keep him in the middle of the crowd where we have a clear line of sight. Do not leave the lights."
Sarah’s breath hitched, but she nodded instantly. She grabbed Leo’s hand, faking a wide smile, and pulled him into the dense throng of dancing guests.
