Chapter 6: The Shadow in the Crowd
Upbeat music bumped through the floorboards. Sarah spun Leo around, but her eyes were constantly scanning the perimeter of the room.
Through the flashing strobe lights, she noticed a man in a white catering uniform. He wasn’t carrying a tray or clearing tables. He was staring dead ahead, tracking Leo's every move, and slowly edging his way onto the crowded dance floor.

Sarah caught Julian’s eye across the room and tipped her chin toward the approaching waiter.
Julian didn't hesitate. He flashed a sharp, tactical hand signal to his men. Just as the suspicious waiter reached his hand inside his jacket pocket, two massive security guards materialized out of the shadows behind him. They clamped their hands over his arms, lifting him completely off his feet. Before the man could struggle or a single guest could scream, they dragged him backward through the swinging kitchen doors, vanishing from sight.
