Chapter 20 - Full Circle

Eleanor smiled, a genuine, warm expression that reached her eyes. "A year ago, you let a title define your worth. You allowed arrogance to blind you to the essence of hospitality. But this past year, you have shown me the man you truly are."
She slid a thick envelope across the desk toward him. "Marcus is retiring next month. I am opening a new boutique property in the West Loop, a place that requires a leader with a profound understanding of ground-level service. I want you to be the General Manager."
Brandon stared at the envelope. Tears pricked the corners of his eyes, not from relief, but from gratitude. He had earned this. Not through lies, not through a flashy facade, but through hard work, humility, and genuine service.
"I won't let you down, Eleanor," he said, using her first name for the very first time, an acknowledgment of mutual respect.

Brandon shook her hand firmly. As he walked out into the lobby, the crystal chandeliers above seemed to shine a little brighter. He wasn't the man who had worn a tailored suit and a mask of lies. He was a hotelier, grounded in truth, ready to open his doors to the world.
