Chapter 7 - Securing the Truth

Officer Ramirez was a seasoned cop who had seen his fair share of domestic disputes and petty thefts, but Sarah’s detailed account of the evening left him visibly disturbed.
"He shattered a solid wooden podium inches from an eight-year-old?" Ramirez clarified, his pen pausing.
"Yes," Sarah confirmed, her voice laced with steel. "He endangered my child to create a diversion. He accused her of stealing a gold watch, but I am absolutely certain he staged the theft himself. I want to press charges for reckless endangerment and false accusation."
Ramirez nodded grimly. "We’ll dispatch a unit to the Harrington Estate right away to collect statements and secure the security footage."

Sarah leaned forward. "Officer, the Harringtons are wealthy and highly influential. If you don't secure that CCTV footage tonight, it will mysteriously disappear by tomorrow morning."
Understanding the gravity of the situation, Ramirez immediately unclipped his radio. He requested a priority dispatch to the banquet hall to impound the security servers before the venue manager could be bought off. Sarah exhaled a shaky breath; the first domino had been pushed.
