Chapter 1 - The House That Watches The mansion stood like a monument to power—silent, gleaming, and impossibly still.

From the outside, it looked like a place where laughter once lived. Tall windows reflected the morning sun, and ivy curled delicately along the stone walls. But inside, the air felt different. Heavy. Controlled.

Everything in the foyer was perfect—too perfect.

The marble floors were polished to a mirror shine, reflecting the massive crystal chandelier that hung overhead like frozen lightning. The sweeping staircase curved upward in elegant symmetry, as if leading somewhere important… or nowhere at all.

And yet, something was wrong.

In the center of the room, a square section of the marble floor had been opened. The clean perfection of the space was broken by rough wood framing and a dark hole beneath it. A ladder disappeared into the shadows below.

A secret.

A prison.

A little girl stood near the edge.

Her pink dress was soft and delicate, the kind worn for birthdays or family photos. But there was no joy in her posture. No excitement. Just stillness.

She looked down into the darkness.

Behind her, four men in black suits stood evenly spaced, hands folded in front of them. Their expressions were blank. Their presence was not protective—it was controlling.

Then there was the man.

He stepped forward slowly, his shoes clicking softly against the marble. His suit was flawless, tailored to precision. Black on black. Clean. Cold.

He crouched beside the opening, resting one hand on his knee.

His gaze dropped into the hole.

The girl pointed downward.

“Mommy’s in there.”

Her voice was calm. Too calm.

For a brief moment, the man didn’t react. Then his jaw tightened—just slightly.

He leaned forward.

And the house seemed to hold its breath.
