Chapter 10 - The House Under Attack The mansion erupted into motion.

Guards rushed into the hallway. Doors slammed. Glass shattered somewhere below. Elena grabbed Lily and pulled her behind a heavy chair as footsteps thundered overhead.

Julian moved with sharp precision, issuing commands without raising his voice.

“North corridor,” he ordered. “Seal it. Now.”

The calm control in him was gone. Replaced by focus. Urgency. A man who had been waiting for this battle longer than anyone knew.

Marcus’s voice echoed from the stairs. “You should have given me the key, brother!”

A gunshot cracked through the air.

Lily cried out and pressed her face into Elena’s side.

Julian turned sharply. “Stay here.”

Elena grabbed his sleeve. “I’m not staying here.”

He met her eyes for a brief second. “Then do exactly what I say.”

She hated that he was right.
