Chapter 19: The Masterpiece

Back in her downtown loft, Eleanor stood before her largest canvas yet. She had been working on this piece for over a month, pouring every ounce of her past and present into the brushstrokes.

It represented the parlor, the gilded cage of her previous life. But as the eye moved across the canvas, the rigid lines fractured and shattered. The right side exploded into a vibrant, chaotic, and beautiful storm of cerulean blue, emerald green, and warm, hopeful yellow.

Eleanor knew it was the best thing she had ever created, because it was completely, authentically hers.
