The winter gallery showcase was a resounding success. The Illusion of Ruin had sold within the first hour of the doors opening to an anonymous buyer.
Eleanor stepped out onto the gallery’s rooftop terrace to escape the crowded room and get some fresh air. The city skyline sparkled against the night sky, a sprawling tapestry of light and life. Marcus joined her a moment later, draping her wool coat over her shoulders to ward off the winter chill.
"The curator said the buyer for your centerpiece is donating it to the new Vance Foundation lobby," Marcus noted, looking out at the city.
Eleanor smiled, pulling the coat a little tighter. "That sounds like a perfect place for it. A reminder for everyone who walks through those doors that hitting rock bottom is just an opportunity to build a stronger foundation."
