Chapter 11 - The FallJames watched from the floor-to-ceiling windows of his office as two police cruisers pulled up to the front plaza of the building. Arthur stood beside him, holding a fresh cup of coffee.

"The DA moved fast," Arthur noted, watching as Eleanor, still wearing her designer suit, was escorted into the back of a police car. She didn't look up. Her reign over the city’s elite had ended in handcuffs.

"She gave them no choice," James said, feeling a strange sense of emptiness. He had expected to feel triumphant, but all he felt was a profound exhaustion. The toxic shadow that had loomed over his life since childhood was finally gone.

He turned away from the window, picking up his suit jacket. "Take over the afternoon meetings, Arthur. I'm going home to my family."
