James stood on the back porch of their home, watching the sunset. The yard was chaotic; Annie was teaching her younger brother how to throw a baseball, the dog was barking at a squirrel, and the cherry blossom tree was in full, glorious bloom.
Catherine slipped her hand into his, resting her head against his arm.
"We did alright, didn't we?" she asked quietly.
