Chapter 14 - The FoundationDespite their newfound peace, Catherine couldn't forget the women and children she had met at the shelter. One evening, over a dinner of takeout Chinese food, she laid down her chopsticks and looked at James with determination.

"I want to start a foundation," Catherine said. "Not a vanity charity for tax write-offs like your mother ran. A real one. For families who get displaced, who need emergency housing and medical care."
James smiled, his heart swelling with pride. "I think that's brilliant. We have the resources, and we have empty commercial properties downtown. We could convert them."

"I want to run it," Catherine added, her eyes shining with a new purpose. "I know what it feels like to be invisible. I don't want anyone else in this city to feel that way."
"Then you'll be the CEO," James agreed instantly. "Let's build something we can actually be proud of."
